Istra Half (200 km): the fast one, the weekend escape that still feels like a holiday.

Your registration includes: the official GPX route and road book (released ~2 weeks before the start), a welcome pack, a brevet card, a starting plate, tracking-app service (provided by MAProgress), bag drop-off at the start location, a finisher’s medal, pasta, drinks, bathrooms and showers at the finish line..
The welcome pack includes an event t-shirt only for riders registered before May 31. After that date, we can’t guarantee t-shirt availability.
BBQ party
The Istra Land barbecue is hosted by the Zarja Sports Center BBQ team and is scheduled for September 17, at 19:00 CEST.
About one month before the event, you’ll receive an email to choose your BBQ option (chicken + potatoes, mixed grill + potatoes, or vegetables + potatoes).
You can also book a +1 (a friend or partner not taking part in the event).
All payments are handled directly on site by the BBQ team.
Istra Land does not manage the organization or the payment process.
What if I can’t ride and want to cancel my registration?
The registration fee is non-refundable.
If you’re unable to take part for any reason, please notify us before 31 May. We will move your registration to the 2027 edition.
Mandatory Documentation
– Copy of personal ID or Passport
– Health certificate (template provided by the organization upon registration)
– Signed liability waiver (template provided by the organization upon registration)
Can I ride in pair?
Yes! Istra Land has no categories, so you’re free to ride solo, in a pair, a trio, or even in a small group. The choice is entirely yours and won’t affect your registration or placement.
How do I organize my accomodation before/during/after the race?
Riders are responsible for arranging their own accommodation before, during, and after the event.
The start and finish both take place in Basovizza (Italy), where you can find multiple hotels and private accommodation. For the rest of the route, riders usually rely on a mix of small hotels, B&Bs, official campsites, or simply bivvying along the way — whatever fits their style of riding.
We recommend booking early, especially for the night before the start, as availability in Basovizza can fill up quickly.
How do I get to the start?
The race starts in Basovizza (Italy), just outside Trieste and a few minutes from the Slovenian border.
The most common ways to reach the start are:
– By car: Basovizza is easily accessible from Trieste, Ljubljana, and the A1/A3 motorway network.
– By train: Travel to Trieste Centrale, then take a local bus (n.39) or taxi to Basovizza (approx. 15–20 minutes).
– By plane: The nearest airports are Trieste (TRS), Ljubljana (LJU), and Venice (VCE). From there, connect by train or bus.
We recommend arriving the day before the accreditation to keep things relaxed.
Where can I park my car/van?
Parking at Zarja Sports Center is forbidden. This avoids traffic jams and prevents blocking the regional road leading to the venue.
We will provide a map of the free parking areas located just behind the sports center (coming from Trieste, take the first turn just outside Basovizza center, following the signs for “Foibe di Basovizza”).
